Summer Blog Hop and Organized Chaos!

I'm so excited to be a part of this amazing Summer Blog Hop hosted by Britney from Tailor-made Teaching!
My last day of school was Friday. I was not ready for the school year to come to an end, and I am in denial that it is actually over. I had the most amazing class this year! The kind you are lucky enough to have once in a decade, so I am still a little sad the year has ended.

I am currently in the middle of disorganization and chaos, so I thought that would be the perfect theme for this Summer Blog Hop post!  I am moving to a new school around the corner from my house, and I'm switching from 3rd to a 2/3 combo! I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I was blessed to have the family of one of my students and my faithful friend/volunteer help take down bulletin boards and pack up boxes. They helped me so much!

This is what it looked like yesterday when I went to finish up. Take a look and see what I mean!

Here's another view! Everything in the back cabinet/shelves is staying, but everything else is going with me! (Yikes- this is after I purged A TON!) I was (un)lucky enough to have my mom and two other colleagues retire the same year. All three were amazing teachers, and had amazing treasures I inherited about 5 years ago.
And here's my car all packed up and ready to be dropped off with the first haul. I'm curious how many trips it will take to get everything moved!
Since organizing my chaos will be at the top of my to-do list, I decided to create an editable label file for my Sterilite containers to match my classroom. I have been putting this off for a long time, so the timing for this Summer Blog Hop could not have been more perfect! I have created labels for three different sized Sterilite drawers.
Here is the smallest container, the small 3-Drawer Multi-Purpose Organizer, and the labels from my file. I plan to use this container to organize our class currency, Wise Owl Bucks. I added small pieces of tape to the top and bottom of the label and taped it inside the drawer.
Here's the next size- the medium 3-Drawer Multi-Purpose Organizer. I will use this one for my copy, grade, file, papers. This should help to organize the chaos!
Below is the last organizer. It's the medium 3-Drawer Cart with Removable Wheels. I originally planned to use this cart for file folder activities, but I might buy another one and use one to organize second grade curriculum and the other to organize third grade. That's the beauty of a customizable file- you can change your mind, retype, and print!
There are many patterns and colors to choose from in this file. You can click on the picture above to see the pack.

  3. Looks like we've got the same Big Lots book bins as well. Your room looks just like mine did. Happy packing, friend!

  6. I LOVE these labels. I have been wanting to make some for my drawers for a long time (to hide all the papers I put in them) and now I do not need to make them. I will certainly be using these. Thanks!
